The American Gathering and Federation of Jewish Holocaust Survivors presented its first Shofar of Freedom award to the government and people of Denmark for saving Jewish lives during the Holocaust. The award was presented during the three day Inaugural Assembly of the American Gathering of Jewish Holocaust survivors, which ended last night. Eigil Jeergansen, the Danish Ambassador in Washington, in accepting the award, said “We are grateful to do our simple human duty.”
