Minister Without Portfolio Israel Galili said today that the government plans to speed up the development of Israeli settlements in the Sharm el-Sheikh area and may increase the number of housing units scheduled to be built there. Galili, who heads the ministerial committee on settlement, visited the area in southern Sinai yesterday. He said the 90 housing units already started were not enough because many more Israelis want to settle in Sharm el-Sheikh. Galili, said that during his trip he was acquainted with the needs of the Daheb and Neviot, settlements on the Sinai shore of the Gulf of Aqaba which are being developed as agricultural settlements and tourist resorts.
