The four cargo vessels owned by the government-subsidized Israeli-America Shipping Line have saved the Israel Treasury an estimated $2,500,000, it was stated in the first annual report of the company which was made public here today.
The line’s four vessels have a capacity of 150,000 tons annually on the U.S. Israel run. The report revealed that the company is negotiating for the purchase of a transatlantic liner for regular passenger traffic between Israel and the U.S. The company paid a six percent dividend to investors on the basis of the first year’s earnings.
