Cross announced he has accepted an invitation to become the first president of the recently-organized American Guild for German Cultural Freedom, whose aim is to preserve and develop the life and spirit of German culture outside the Reich. Governor Cross will preside at a dinner to Thomas Mann in New York on April 20.
