Governor Dewey today issued a proclamation designating March 30th as World Jewish Child’s Day in New York State. The proclamation was issued to representatives of Hadassah, the Mizrachi Women’s Organization of America and Pioneer Women-Labor Zionist Organization of America.
This is the third annual celebration of World Jewish Child’s Day. It has been proclaimed officially as an international event by the Youth Aliyah department of the Jewish Agency under whose auspices almost 60,000 Jewish child refugees from 62 countries have been rescued and rehabilitated in Palestine and Israel since 1934.
