Gov. Theodore McKeldin of Maryland, chairman of the America-Israel Society, received the annual award of the National Federation of Men’s Clubs tonight at the organization’s convention dinner here. Presenting the award, Judge Stanely Scherr of Baltimore cited the Governor’s efforts in behalf of American Jewry, Israel and his work in the field of inter-faith and interracial activities.
The federation, which is affiliated with the United Synagogue of America, includes 210 men’s clubs. More than 30,000 Jews are members of the clubs and through them advance the program of Conservative Judaism.
