Bowing to pressure from United Nations headquarters and to intervention from other sources, the Lebanese Government today withdrew its ban on the admission of Gerold Frank, Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondent accompanying the United Nations Commission of Inquiry on Palestine.
Frank was informed by the Lebanese Consulate here that a visa would be issued to him on application, five days after all other correspondents accredited to the commission had received theirs and after the Beirut sessions of the commission had already commenced.
Frank, alone of all the correspondents accredited to the commission, had been ?arred from the Lebanon because of dissatisfaction in official circles there with articles he had written about that country a year ago. A Lebanese official informed a representative of the commission that his government considered Frank a “dangerous ?an.”
