Joseph Gravitzky-Regev, director of the Israel office of Keren Hayesod, died here today of a heart attack. He was 55 years old.
Long active in journalism, Mr. Gravitzky began his career as a diplomatic correspondent for the Warsaw Yiddish newspaper, “Haint.” Settling in Palestine in 1932, he served successively as head of the press bureau of the Jewish Agency, manager of the defunct Palcor Telegraphic Agency, and director of the local press division of the State of Israel Information Services, He also edited, in 1951-52, the vocalized Hebrew daily “Omer,” designed especially for new immigrants-learning Hebrew.
