The Greater New York Campaign of the $4,500,000 United Palestine Appeal was launched today at a luncheon at the Hotel Astor where more than 450 communal and business leaders pledged their maximum support to the drive. The organization of 60 divisions in the professions, trades and industry, was announced. Speakers included Harold Jacob 1, chairman of the Greater New York campaign; Arthur Lamport, treasurer, and Samuel Blitz, campaign director. Mr. Jacob 1, presiding, reported that more than 220 Jews from Germany and Austria had arrived in Palestine during the past week.
