Joseph Mallah, chief of the Greek diplomatic mission to Israel, who is now on leave in Paris, has expressed a wish to resign his post, according to an announcement today by a spokesman of the Greek Foreign Ministry, who added that the request was under consideration.
Attacks against the appointment of Mr. Mallah have been voiced in some newspapers in Greece as a result of a campaign carried on against him by reactionary groups in the country. They objected to the fact that a Jew was appointed as the first Greek diplomatic representative to Israel.
