Members of the Greek Parliament today renewed their demands that Greece accord recognition to Israel. Aleko Kostopolous, of Salonika, pointing out that “relations between the two countries will be rendered moat difficult if recognition is delayed,” noted that most member states of the United Nations had already extended recognition to Israel.

Other members of Parliament noted that Greek acceptance of Israel would not adversely affect Israeli-Arab relations since the Israeli-Egyptian armistice negotiations at Rhodes are continuing. It is generally believed here that under the height of pressure that has already been leveled against the government on the subject, Greece will reach a decision on recognition for Israel some time next week.
