A delegation consisting of the president and vice-president of the Jewish community of Athens appeared today before the Greek Minister of the Interior, asking for an inquiry into the existence of a secret anti-Jewish organization which is sending threatening letters to Jewish merchants urging them to liquidate their businesses.
The Minister assured the delegation he would order a prompt investigation into the matter and instruct that members of the organization be severely punished.
The delegation also gave to the Minister a number of anti-Jewish leaflets distributed by unknown parties all over Athens, calling upon the population to boycott Jewish stores. The leaflets, with the threatening letters, were handed over to the State Attorney by the Minister for investigation and prosecution of the guilty parties.
