Minister of Agriculture Yiannis Pottakis toured the Israeli pavilion at the Agrotica-87 International Fair in Thessaloniki Monday, escorted by Moshe Gilboa, Israel’s diplomatic representative in Greece.
Israel is the only Middle Eastern country participating in the agricultural fair which has exhibits from the United States, seven Western European countries, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria.
Gilboa, who holds the rank of Ambassador showed the Greek Minister sophisticated agricultural equipment designed and built in Israel and a modern poultry lay-out developed by the kibbutz industries in Israel for private and collective farming.
Gilboa will host a reception for Greek officials and representatives of the Thessaloniki Jewish community Tuesday night. It will also be attended by Ionnis Papadopoulos, a member of the Cabinet who is Minister of northern Greece, and by representatives of foreign countries.
