Archbishop Takovos, the Greek Orthodox Primate of North and South America, said that he will present a Middle East peace appeal tomorrow to the United Nations, the United States and the Soviet Union on behalf of “the two million little people” in the Western hemisphere’s Greek Orthodox Church. The 58-year-old Archbishop, who is attending a Church congress here, described his proposal as “an appeal to peace–if not a program, some opinions.” He assigned great responsibility for the Mideast escalation to both the’ U.S. and the Soviets in remarking: “When you provide arms for the belligerents, you are not innocent of guilt.”
