Revolts against the Executive of the Jewish Agency broke out today in several Greek cities as a result of the dissatisfaction prevailing among Greek Jewry with the methods of distributing immigration certificates for Palestine.
A protest meeting in which the entire Jewish population participated was held today in the city of Orestiada, near the Turkish frontier. All male members of the community, present at this meeting, signed a protest declaring that “unless Orestiada receives at least one immigration certificate all Zionist activity in the city will cease.”
In Serres the Zionists invited all Zionist groups in Greece to join in a demand that a special Zionist convention be held to insist that more immigration certificates be allotted by the Executive of the Jewish Agency for Greece.
