Sir Edward Grigg, British Minister of State in the Middle East, left Palestine today after a visit of a week’s duration during which he conferred with Jewish and Arab Leaders.
This was his second visit to Palestine since he arrived in Cairo early in January to assume the post left vacant by the assassination of Lord Moyne. Sir Edward promenaded through the streets of Jerusalem before leaving, indicating that police feel that the terrorist menace has been checked for the time being.
High Commissioner Lord Gort visited the colony of Kfar Filadi-Tel Hai today where he planted a cedar of Lebanon. The colony’s settlers presented a memorandum to the High Commissioner asking for free immigration into Palestine for the remnants of European Jewry and government assistance for the drainage of the Huleh territory.
