By obtaining legal rights to the name, Ku Klux Klan, a group of progressives, led by Stetson Kennedy, author of “Southern Exposure,” hope to reduce the strength of the anti-Semitic organization.
Mr. Kennedy revealed here last night that a mixed racial-group, including a Protestant, a Catholic, a Jew, a Negro, an American Indian and a Japanese-American, have already applied for a charter in Illinois under the name of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. Kennedy said the name is not now incorporated in any state.
