A second group of Syrian Jews has been apprehended attempting to escape into Israel, it was reported here today.
Thirty-nine Jews, including three women and four children, were rounded up by the Syrian police who are reported to have uncovered a large smuggling ring operated by Arabs who specialize in running Jews across the border. Recently, a group of Syrian Jews who had made their way into Lebanon were arrested on the Lebanese-Israel border and sent back to Syria.
