A send-off dinner to the first group of America veterans leaving for Palestine to study at the Haifa Technion under the G.I. Bill of Rights was tendered by the American Society for the Hebrew Institute of Technology in Haifa at the George Washington Hotel last night.
The Hebrew Institute of Technology, also known as the Haifa Technion, is the only technological school of university grade in Palestine and was approved some month ago by the Veterans Administration in Washington, for the training and education of American veterans under the G.I. Bill of Rights. Subsequently the Palestine Government granted fifty visas to returning servicemen wishing to avail themselves of this educational opportunity.
