Groups of Armenian immigrants are arriving daily in Amman and other cities in Transjordania.
The wave of Armenian immigration is causing resentment among the Arab population there because the Armenians are competing with the local workers and merchants and by their low standards are forcing down those of the Arab population. The Government of Transjordania has, therefore, decided to restrict Armenian immigration, but the immigrants, who are mostly refugees from the northern border of Syria, are continuing to come.
