The results of 13 years of growth and achievement of the Jewish Community Council of Detroit are shown in “Profile 1950,” the Council’s annual report released here.
An eight-fold increase in program service for community organizations within a three-year period, and an 18-fold increase in the number of people attending these programs are among the achievements listed in the report.
However, the report also tells of an increasing number of instances of discrimination and anti-Semitism, with a resultant increase of activity by the Council in the field of civil rights, Cultural services, arbitration, consumers’ problems and other activities are also discussed in the Council report.
