After repeated delays which have covered a period of three years the libel actions instituted by Deputy Gruenbaum against the editors of the Polish Nationalist Daily newspapers, Gazeta Warszawska, Dwa Grosze and Roswoj, will be brought to trial on Friday. Deputy Gruenbaum, who was accused by the three newspapers in 1920 of agitation to overthrow the Republic of Poland, has called together a most notable array of witnesses, including some of the foremost leaders of Jewish life on the continent. Among them are numbered Rabbi Perlmutter of Warsaw; Sir Alfred Mond, former Minister of Health of Great Britain; Sir Stuart Samuel, London, President of the Association of Jewish Friendly Societies; Dr. Leo Motzkin, Secretary of the Committee of Jewish Delegations in Paris, and Charles Mentefiore, London, of the Jewish Colonization Association. Sir Stuart Samuel has submitted an affidavit through the British Consul in Warsaw which will be presented at the hearing in lieu of his own personal appearance. It is reported that Dr. Motzkin is on his way to Warsaw to testify for Gruenbaum.
Deputy Gruenbaum will probably be unable to attend the opening meeting of the Greater Actions Committee of the World Zionist Organization in London, because of the trial.
