Deputy Isaac Gruenbaum, leader of the Jewish Sejm Club, has resigned as member of the Praesidium of that body.
“Certain Jewish deputies preferred to support Premier Sikorski, although he has not granted most of the Jewish demands”, Deputy Gruenbaum explained to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. “Fearing that otherwise a reactionary government would replace the present cabinet, these deputies have shown an undue readiness to compromise. I consider this a voluntary sanction of the present restrictions practiced against Jews. Polish Jewry has two roads. In one, that of assimilation with the Poles, the other, cooperation with the minorities with a view to transforming Pol- and into a Nationalities State with power vested not in the dominating people, but in all nationalities inhabiting the country. The Jewish Sejm Club is gradually abandoning this latter principle and for that reason I consider it advisable to retire ######.
