An Israeli security guard shot and wounded a Palestinian youth in the southern port city of Ashdod on Tuesday.
The private security guard told police that he opened fire on the youth and two other Arabs with him, because he thought the youth was trying to snatch his weapon.
The victim, a 15-year-old Palestinian from the West Bank village of Dura near Hebron, was in moderate condition with wounds to the hip.
Police did not think that the incident was a terrorist attack.
