Gun battles erupted in the West Bank after Israeli troops killed five Palestinians near Kalkilya. Israeli soldiers opened fire after they “identified an armed gang of terrorists” shooting at an Israeli vehicle, according to the army. Palestinians say the five were unarmed civilians.
