Writing in Liberty Magazine, H.G. Wells, the British author, says that Jews because of their “irrational nationalism” are largely to blame for their persecution, drawing a reply from Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt that the Gentiles have pushed the Jews into their nationalistic attitude.

Fulton Oursler, editor of Liberty, declared in a radio address tonight that he had asked Mr. Wells to write on “The Future of the Jews” and was surprised when the author criticized the Jews, as well as their enemies, whereupon he asked Mrs. Roosevelt to give the opposing viewpoint. Mr. Wells’ article appears this week and Mrs. Roosevelt’s next week.
