Habimah Troupe Feted by Zionist Executive

A reception in honor of the Habimah players, Hebrew actors troupe, was given yesterday by the Zionist Executive. The speakers who greeted the troupe included M. M. Ussishkin, Miss Henrietta Szold, Dr. David Yellin and L. Jaffe.

In his address Mr. Ussishkin urged the troupe to discard “Galuth” plays such as “The Dybbuk” and “The Golem” and to play only the dramas of the new Hebrew renaissance in Palestine.

Tchemerinsky speaking in behalf or the Habimah expressed the hope that next year a Habimah theatre will be erected in Jerusalem.

NOTED JEWISH DRAMATIST, SACKLER, SAILS FOR EUROPE

Harry Sackler, well known American Jewish dramatist, sailed yesterday on the steamer Aquitania for Europe. He was accompanied by Mrs. Sackler.

While abroad Mr. Sackler will visit Poland and other countries in Eastern Europe.

Another volume of Mr. Sackler’s dramas was recently published. The volume includes a dramatization of the life of Major Mordecai Manuel Noah. Mr. Sackler is ranked as the outstanding Jewish dramatist in the United States today.
