The details of Hadassah’s expanding medical program in Israel were reported to the delegates at the 35th annual Hadassah convention here today by Mrs. Samuel J. Rosensohn, chairman of the medical committee.

She revealed that the organization is taking over the administration of a 100-bed children’s hospital at the Rosh Haayim camp, north of Tel Aviv, and is setting up welfare stations in four other immigrant centers. Teams of specialists are also kept busy at various centers fighting trachoma and various skin diseases. In addition, Mr. Rosensohn reported, the organization is maintaining four hospitals with a total of 360 beds in Jerusalem and will soon open another 70-bed institution there.

Dr. Eli Davis, the organization’s medical director in Israel, said that tuberculosis has become a menace in Israel, pointing out that it is more prevalent than in 1939. He added that trachoma is "rampant." The organization is planning to open a mental hygiene and child guidance center, he announced.
