Contracts have been awarded for construction of various units of the new Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in Jerusalem, Mrs. Samuel J. Rosensohn, Hadassah president, announced here today at a special meeting of the organization’s executive marking the 41st anniversary of the establishment of the women’s Zionist organization of America.
Construction will begin shortly on the new center, which will consist of a 430-bed hospital connected with the Hadassah-University school, new buildings for the school, an out-patient department and a school for nurses, Mrs. Rosensohn said. A message from Israel Premier David Ben Gurion lauded the organization for its achievements in Israel since the Purim of 1912 when it was founded.
