More than $500,000 in Israel bonds was raised today at a special meeting in Carnegie Hall honoring Mrs. Herman Shulman, national president of Hadassah. The meeting was attended by 2,500 women.
Levi Eshkol, Israel’s Finance Minister, who represented his government, paid tribute to Mrs. Shulman and to Hadassah for “resourceful and imaginative leadership” in aiding the Israel Bond drive. He presented Mrs. Shulman with a parchment scroll signed by Israel Prime Minister David Ben Gurion.
