Hadassah in Canada is celebrating its eighteenth anniversary. In 1916 a group of ten women, with Mrs. Anna Raginsky as the moving spirit, assembled in Toronto to organize the first chapter. The war was in progress then, and their first work was in connection with relief for soldiers.
In March of the following year the members of the original chapter were visited by Miss Henrietta Szold, who inspired formation of other chapters. A federation was created in 1919.
