More than 600 chapters of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, have been asked to launch a nationwide campaign in 47 states to provide funds for the purchase of a fleet of bombers, which will be known as the “Hadassah Air Armada,” it was announced today.
Chapters have been informed that the Treasury Department will name a medium bomber for the organization for every $175,000 worth of “E” bonds sold by its members. For every $300,000 sold a heavy bomber will be inscribed with Hadassah’s name. Four thousand Hadassah members from Brooklyn will be the first to provide a Hadassah bomber tomorrow. They will announce the completion of their campaign for $175,000 during a donor luncheon at the Hotel St. George.
