Pledges of “the fullest loyalty and cooperation” to the executive of the Jewish Agency, scheduled to open its emergency meeting in Jerusalem Wednesday to consider Britain’s proposal that United Nations solve the Palestine problem, were today cabled from the mid-winter conference of Hadassah by 100 national board members representing 200,000 women in 800 chapters in 47 states.
At sessions today, the third day of the convention, delegates discussed “the expansion, perfection and continuation along new lines of health-giving and life-saving services of Hadassah.” Mrs. Sara Bavly, of Jerusalem, nutrition director of Hadassah, who is now in this country, reported that the organization is feeding and teaching cooking and nutrition to some 100,000 Jewish children in the elementary schools of Palestine. The British government, too, she disclosed, has availed itself of Hadasah’s expert nutrition services.
Mrs. Abraham Tulin reported that in the past five months Hadassah has sent $300,000 worth of supplies to its institutions in Palestine, including drugs, doctors’ equipment, kitchen utensils, 14 tons of undiluted DDT, X-ray films and machinery.
