Mrs. David de Sola Pool, who was reelected president of the Hadassah, today issued a statement to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency asking correction of the report published yesterday that she had been a proponent of the Ichud group. Terming this report a “complete misunderstanding of her position,” Mrs. Pool said:
“I have always, throughout my long Zionist activity, been a strong adherent of the Jewish Commonwealth. Mine is and has been that fundamental Zionism which looks with disfavor on any whittling down of Zionist principles. I was and am still an adherent of the position taken by the Biltmore Manifesto which was the basis of the joint Hadassah-Zionist Organization of America resolution of October 17. I am now, and have always been, inextricably identified with all Hadassah stands on the fundamental matters which this Manifesto and resolution express.”
