The headquarters here of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, yesterday cabled its protest against the suspension of immigration into Palestine to the Secretariat of the League of Nations to be submitted to the Permanent Mandates Commission, now meeting in Geneva. The protest was in the form of a resolution passed by the national board of Hadassah.
The cabled resolution reads:
“Whereas Jewish immigration into Palestine is essential and basic for the upbuilding of the Jewish national homeland in Palestine, and
“Whereas a ban against immigration, even though temporary, is contrary to the fundamental principles of the Balfour Declaration and the Mandate,
“Be it resolved that Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, voice its protest against the immigration restriction imposed by Great Britain the Mandatory Power, to the League of Nations for transmission to the Mandates Commission.”
