Members of Junior Hadassah were called upon here last night “to accept the responsibilities as well as the privileges of their birthright as young Americans” and to prepare themselves for leadership in the American and American Jewish communities.
The call was made by Miss Zelda Funk, national president of the organization, in an address opening the 26th annual convention of Junior Hadassah. About 1,000 delegates and guests representing a membership of 20,000 girls throughout the country attended the opening session. Miss Funk urged the members to preserve their Jewish heritage and to assist the Jewish state of Israel to grow in peace and security. The convention today adopted a $200,000 budget for 1950.
