The construction of a $500,000 Henrietta Szold School of Nursing in Jerusalem, in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the death of the founder of Hadassah, was voted today by leaders of the organization attending the annual mid-winter conference of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, here.
Construction of the new nurses’ training school, which will accommodate 150 students a semester and will include graduate and post-graduate courses, will start immediately, according to Mrs. D. Leonard Cohen, chairman of the Hadassah Medical Center Building Committee. In behalf of the organization, Mrs. Cohen presented a check for $500,000 to Dr. Kalman J. Mann, director of the Hadassah Medical Organization in Israel, who is in this country to attend the conference.
Mrs. Abraham Tulin, of New York, chairman of the Hadassah Medical Organization, reported that the new $12,500,000 Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in Jerusalem, now in the process of construction, will be equipped with closed circuit television to bring operations performed in the hospital directly to students at the medical school.
