The seizure of $140,000 from a train near Hadera, last Saturday, by a group of armed Jews was denounced today by the secret “Voice of Israel” transmitter, operated by the Haganah. The broadcast said that the robbery was probably the work of terrorist organizations, and charged that it “distorted the national character” of the Jewish struggle in Palestine.
Police announced today that in a search of buses, taxis and other vehicles, yesterday, during which Jewish passengers were forced to produce identity papers, a small quantity of gunpowder was found in a bus at Petach Tikvah, and parcels containing illegal pamphlets and several British uniforms were discovered at the baggage office of a bus company in Tel Aviv.
