A collection of Haggadahs is now on exhibition at the New York Public Library. It represents the Seder service as observed by the Jews in various countries. There are editions of the Haggadah containing interesting illustrations, many of which are accompanied by translations in the languages spoken by Jews.
In addition to the modern languages there are exhibited Haggadahs with translations into the Arabic dialect of Egypt, the Berber-Arabic vernacular spoken by the Jews of Tunis, the Judeo-Arabic vernacular of the Jews of Bagdad, as well as that of the Yemenites. Yiddish, Judeo-Spanish and Judeo-Italian are likewise represented.
The exhibition is held in the corridor of the second floor of the Central Building of the New York Public Library and will be open till April 30th.
