A loan of £28,000 from Barclays Bank for the purpose of constructing a slaughter house, has been approved by the municipality. It was decided to purchase twenty-five dunams of land at £380 a dunam near the Shemen factory as a site for the proposed slaughter house.
The new Town Clerk, Jiries Eff. Khoury, participated for the first time and was congratulated by the Mayor on his appointment. The Town Clerk expressed the hope that the members of the municipality would assist him in his work.
