The French-British-Hedjaz comerence on the reconstruction of the Hedjaz railway to Mecca, in session here for several weeks, abruptly terminated its discussions yesterday. Reports current here were to the effect that the conference was broken off, while an official statement from the Palestine government declared that the conference was merely adjourned.
Prior to the adjournment it became known that considerable dissension prevailed at the conference due to the insistence of the representative of ## Saud, Sultan of the Wahabis and present ruler of Mecca, that the administration of the Hedjaz railway is to be in the hands of Moslems. The representatives of the Palestine and French governments insisted that the conference limit its discussion to technical matters only. The French representative returned to Beirut yesterday.
