The question of an oil pipe line to Haifa was raised in the House of Commons today when Colonel Wedgwood asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he was as yet taking any steps to get a pipe line constructed by the Anglo-Persian Oil Company from Klanikin or by the International Oil Combine from Mosul to debouch on the Mediterranean at Haifa instead of Alexandretta. Has the Admiralty yet been consulted in the matter? he asked.

Col. Amery said in reply that the point was one to be considered if and when the Companies concerned were in a position to consider the construction of a pipe line to the Mediterranean, and he was keeping in touch with the Admiralty.
