David Rose, New York Jewish communal leader, was today awarded an honorary doctorate of technical sciences by the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology at the opening session of the Institute’s annual meeting, which is being held on the new campus on Mount Carmel here.
Abba Eban, Israel’s Minister of Education and former Ambassador to the United States, and General Yaacov Dori, president of the Technion, bestowed the honorary degree on Mr. Rose “in tribute to his remarkable efforts to strengthen the programs of higher education, science and technology in Israel. ” Mr. Rose, who served for four years as president of the American Technion Society, is currently chairman of the organization’s board of directors.
