President Chaim Weimann this week-end headed a delegation of prominent Iseael officials who cams here to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Haifa Technion, the Jewish state’s only schocl for advanced technical studies.
Dr. Weimann told the celsbrants that a “small country like ouws can not live by physical strength alone, The values of Science, technology and oulture must shape our national life, in which the Techmion plays an important role,” the Chief of State decalred.
Dr. Shiomo Kaplanski, president of the institution, who was awarded an honorary doctorats by President Weismann, reviewed the growth of the Technion in the past 25 years, He compared the 800 students now ourolled in the Technion with the 100 in 1924. One thousand anginers graduated from the institution, he reported.
