Haim Beltzen, who founded Israel’s Itim news agency, died in Israel at age 92. A lawyer by training, Beltzen studied literature and history at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. During World War II, he joined the British army and began filing reports to the Hebrew daily Ha’aretz while stationed in Turkey. In 1950, he founded the Itim news agency, where he was editor in chief until 1975.
