Daniel Frisch, administrate on-supported candidate for the presidency of the Zionist Organization of America, declared last night that half of the $800,000,000 which Israeli Finance Minister Eliezer Kaplan deemed necessary for the Jewish state’s immigration program must come from the Jewish community in the United States.
Addressing more than 300 delegates from thirty Z.O.A. districts in the organization’s Manhattan Region, Frisch emphasized that these funds would have to emanate from two sources –the United Jewish Appeal and large-scale private investment capital, Frisch’s candidacy for the Z.O.A. presidency was unanimously approved by the delegates. Jacques Torczyner, Z.O.A. vice-president, was elected president of the Region.
