Hamas officials denied claims by Palestinian security sources that members of the Islamic militant group imprisoned in Israel are engaged in contacts with Israel to negotiate a cease-fire. Palestinian security sources had maintained they had a letter sent by the Hamas prisoners to their political leadership abroad informing them of the contacts. Hamas sources denied any such negotiations are taking place.
