Hamas rejected a call by the Palestinian Authority prime minister to suspend attacks on Israel, Israel Radio said. Monday’s report followed a bulletin on Hamas’ Web site claiming Ahmed Karia proposed a cease-fire to restore relative calm to the Palestinian territories. P.A. officials did not comment on the reported exchange.
