Hamas reportedly pledged not to challenge the Palestinian Authority in the Gaza Strip after an Israeli withdrawal. The Islamic terrorist group, which is seen as a potential rival to Yasser Arafat’s ruling Fatah movement, made the pledge to mediators in Cairo, the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram said Monday.
