Hamas shelled a Gaza Strip settlement. At least three dozen mortar bombs were fired Thursday at Neve Dekalim from the nearby Palestinian town of Khan Younis, causing damage to homes and hothouses but causing no casualties. Hamas claimed responsibility for the barrage, calling it revenge for a Palestinian who apparently was shot dead by Israeli troops Wednesday while approaching a settlement in southern Gaza.
